OUAS October - Walk on

Hello people!

How has your Monday been? In Singapore, it's the eve of yet another holiday and I've been home since Saturday - so no Monday blues for me today!

Today, I have an entry for OUAS' October sketch challenge to share. Below is, the sketch:

And here is my take on it:

I flipped the sketch to have the photo and layers on the right hand side and shifted the title around a bit. Since OUAS is big on journalling, I've tucked mine on a brown distresed tag under the photo; you can't see the contents because it's meant for hubby's eyes only. I then printed out some sentiments on patterned paper and popped it up on the photo itself (something I've always wanted to do :D) - the words were something hubby mentioned while we were having one of our "conversations". The photo was a set-up shot when we were holidaying in the Maldives, and we caught the sun-rise on our last day on the resort. It reminds me that we should always look forward to a new day, and carry on our life with each other bearing new hope and new joy, even when it is difficult to do so.

As usual, some close-ups:

Tucked in some cut-up vines under another distressed and colored tag, with a little wooden heart accent.

My flower cluster. I've gotten a tad lazy these days and only just brushed gesso for a washed-out look. For this layout, I also mixed some gel bead medium with my Shimmerz spritz (my ONE and ONLY ONE but I LOVE IT!). You can see it peeking out from under the flowers.

Using a stencil from Crafter's Workshop and went over it with some mists and another stencil from Prima. For the wooden clock and wings, I brushed gesso and applied Tim Holtz distress paint before coating it with a layer of clear crackle medium.

Well, that's all I have for now! I'm hoping to squeeze out some time during the holiday itself tomorrow for another creation. Can't wait to share it with everyone, and thanks for dropping by!

love,
