Altered Home Decor for Made With Love

Hello friends! How are you on this rainy day?

It's brought the hot days down a notch and I'm glad that the year-end monsoons are finally here. We are enjoying the lovely winds coming through our windows and snuggling up with hot Milo. Elsewhere in the North, some of you are already having the polar vortex coming down and others are still in autumn. Keep warm and keep safe! Those of you in the South, happy summer fun!

I have a small altered project to share with you today. It's made for my LSS Made With Love Singapore and features the new Mix the Media range from Jillibean Soup, as well as the Rustic Harmony collection from Kaisercraft.

This can be the perfect piece to hang on the wall or to give away.

Some close-ups:

  1. Wonderful canvas, loved the video too! Love those papers!

  2. Beautiful. Just absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the video ... sure wish I could slow it down though.

    1. oh I'm so sorry Suze! It's always a struggle for me to decide how fast to make the video go - if it's too long it gets boring for some but I also understand how you feel when it's too fast and can't catch all the action. But if you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or on FB. I'll be glad to help you out :D

  3. It's a really pretty piece! :)

  4. i am impressed as always with the delicacy of your work - i hope i'll be able to watch the video in the evening :)

  5. why use white gesso when you can use clear? just a curious question.. also you anyway will be covering the base with colour? does white provide a better 'canvas'?

    1. Good question Grace, although the answer to your question is quite silly LOL

the white doesn't provide a better base, since Distress Paints come out with an opaque finish and even the pale colours come out quite beautifully on the wood. The real reason I used white gesso is because I wanted a bit of white amongst the colours, and I don't have white paint in my stash apart from a small tube of acrylic white paint which I use for something else.

  6. Oh wow - this is fabulous. Thanks for the wonderful video!

thank you for dropping a note, it means so much to me!
