Hello friends!
Don't you love it when serendipity strikes? I originally made this for the June mood board challenge over at Maja Design only to realise it wasn't my turn this month. So here it goes into a regular post and now I have some extra free time for doing up the entire house to await Queen Elsa's arrival.
Here is the mood board again, and the challenge is on-going!
This used to be a tray which my Prima resins came in and it's so fun to give it a second lease of life. I primed the sides and back with gesso, followed by a layer of stucco and Distress Paint.
Some details:
I lined each compartment with Maja Design's Vintage Spring Basics collection paper which I stamped and heated with black embossing powder. Then I layered on more patterned paper and popped them up for effect. The picket fence was die cut and brushed generously with clear crackle paint, followed by some painting with Distress Paint (Shabby Shutters) for a weathered look.
Mini tags that I cut out from "Coffee at the Arbor" collection which I also layered.
Some fussy cutting and more layering finishes up the last two compartments. To me, home is where we have our gatherings for family and friends alike, and my most frequently asked question to everyone is "Can I make you a cup of coffee?". It's the perfect excuse to sit down and enjoy the time together, chatting about our lives. This display piece is going to my very kind neighbours who have been so generous with us.
That's all I have for today, thanks for dropping by!
